mine is still stock 2.53ghz. try this for example, you use nitrosoxide in a car to get a performance boost out of your stock car engine. what happens to that engine if you use it all the time??
rihgt682,A lot of people are doing it but there not doing it with Dell motherboards.Dell bio's are locked the exception being some of there higher end XPS gameing machines.I read a little about the software to overclock the front-side bus but as ddp said I doubt it works properly.Here's info about one software that will do it http://www.cpufsb.de/index.html I would personally not RISK it.
dell, along with the other big pc makers, lock that kind of stuff in thier bios. this is just one of the reasons alot of people build their own. something like clockgen will work from inside windows but it is not always the best way to do things as it can cause instabilty issues as it overclocks everything at once. if you want more info on over clocking read the overclocking thread there is alot of good info in there and you can ask your questions there aswel
