Is there any way to video capture the logon screen? All the software I've tried is only accessible when logged in, but I want to record something before that .... I've tried accessing the Task Manager from the logon screen, but that just takes me to the old school logon thing.

Just a thought, but you may want to try it.
Use Fast User Swithcing in XP. Log in with one account, run the video capture program you already have. Now, switch user (do not log out) and see if the program running under the first logged account captures the log on screen. Like I said, this is just a wild guess, but you never know, it may work.

Or if u have tv-output in your computer, use that and record what's happening with an external device (vhs, another computer, dvd-recorder, etc.) Or if u don't have tv-out, get a vga card that has tv-out.
