How do you actually play dvds?

    Can dvd burners actually play dvds? Mine has a new excuse for every dvd for why it won't play it. Not a single dvd has played on it, but the excuse is different almost every time.

    your burner didn't come with any software like PowerDVD? that is what I use.

    There are free players out there that you can download .. a good one is VideoLAN. I hear good things about it.

    Thanks. VideoLAN did the trick. I was naive enough to think that Media Player or Real Player would do it. If you can't tell, I don't watch a lot of dvds.
