To everyone who wants a 1 click copy and burn, I bet DVD Decrypter could if he wanted to make his 1 click. What do you think.

I also found out the hard way by purchasing DVD Cloner 2 for 59.99 per information from the website that rated it #1.

I tried everything the tech support told me to which was delete this software download this software do this do that till I got so confused and fed up I asked for my refund. They said they would only refund if their software failed to work on my sysstem. I told them that not getting a burn was a failure and i wanted my money back or I would bash them on every forum I could find.

They then sent me an option to download a reufnd form which I did and had to fax it to them. I am suppose to get my refund but I will almost bet you I don't.

I made the mistake of paying with it with my debit card instead of a credit card, so I could not stop it.

Will let you know if it works.

    to teikyo30:

You are so up on DVD XCopy Platinum: I bought it also and could not get it to work after all instructions from their tech support (just about the same nonuseful information as DVD Cloner2).

What I had to do on it was unload it off my computer and put in in my software library .......I then downloaded Decrypter and Shrink and am completely satisfied with it.

DVD Shrink is very good, but if you want to go another way use DVDXCOPY XPRESS, its takes 2 clicks. It Rips it then burns it, the movie, 2 steps, VERY EASY!

    Hello all,
I registered just so I could say thank you.
I bought a writer yesterday. Then viewed this thread about one hour ago. By following the your very simple steps I created my first backup. I must say that it was sweet!!! Less painfull that I could have ever dreamed. It was very easy using Decrypter / Shrink and best of all it was FREE. Other than looking at the disc I am unable to tell the difference. THANK YOU again...
    Your #1 fan,
    Shad (redtab99)

Don't want to confuse you but you don't need DVD Decrypter. Just use Shrink as it does exactly what Decrypter does. Why people use to use Decrypter along with Shrink was that Shrink would not work without first doing Decrypter. Now Shrink will decrypt and shrink the movie so no use to use Decrypter.

This will save you some time and trouble. If you are useing Decrypter to burn it will still work.

Hi all, just to make things clear.

Shrink will rip, compress and encode. But it doesn't burn by itself. It needs a burning engine like nero or dvd decrypter. Nero is $70 and DVD Decrypter is free.

Flip218, you are exactly correct. I just was saying that you don't have to use Decrypter to encode as Shrink does that also now.

Of course you will have to have Decrypter IF you want to use it to burn the image to disc.

    Happy ripping and burning.

I use Imation DVD+R disc and have not had any problems as far as them being able to burn the image. Sometimes I screw up and mess it up myself but no fault of the disc media.

Really? Is this full version, upgrade or oem? Also read a different thread. Will have to try your method of DVD43 and Nero Recode2.

Flip-go for it, one thing, sometimes I had a little glitch with DVD43, so I bought Anydvd(somewhere around 30-40 bucks), and NO problems at ALL. It's just sits there doing it's thing and you never know it's there. I also tried DVD Region Free, but I like Anydvd better. Anyway you can try it for about 20-30 days for free, but let me warn ya, you'll buy it if you try it. Damn! I think this Jack is making me a poet. Good luck! [IMG]

    Flip218,

Thanks to bigorange, I now use ANYDVD and Nero Recode2.

FANTASTIC.......Don't use anything else, don't need to.

I am now useing the trail vs. of ANYDVD but I am buying it because it is absolutely foolproof. As bigorange says, it just sits there and does what it is suppose to.

I tried DVD43 but could not get it to work.

If I can't find ANYDVD cheaper than 39.00 I will have to buy the key from ANYDVD website direct.

********Does anyone know of a website where I can purchase it any cheaper than 39.00? If you do I would appreciate the information.

I have searched and can't find one.

    LOVE Afterdawn.........

Nothing wrong with Shrink, Wonderful program,. I have used it also but prefer Nero REcode 2. Have used DVDDecrypter also wonderful program but find recode simplier.

With ANYDVD installed, it simply encodes your movie files and then automatically goes to nero and burns without problems.

totally agree, still use nve 2 also cos I like to make my own menus. Working with a trial version of DVDLab now just to see how much more it will do than nve 2. It definitely does more, but I have to be able to operate it and I'm working with a small deck o' cards. Thanx for the tip on the other thread, I'll check it out. [IMG]

I must say I was pleasantly surprised with Recode2. Thank you bigorange for the steps. It was nice to learn another way to backup, and backup successfully. I guess you just need to ask yourself how much you wanna spend.

XCopy Platinum- as low as $79
    DVD Cloner 2 - $59
    Nero 6 - as low as $49.99
    AnyDVD - $39.99
    DVD43 - Free
    DVD Shrink - Free
    DVD Decrypter - Free

So, for everyone who is new, just make sure you read or even ask how to do it right. Will save you time, money(less coasters) and the headaches.

No problem flip, glad you liked it. I'm constantly looking for new ways. Never know when one will work when another won't. Maybe I outta write a guide so I won't have to write all this anymore. I know I could get the operation of Anydvd right. lol lol [IMG]

Bigorange that is a good idea. I don't think I've seen a guide for AnyDVD or DVD43 with Nero Recode2.
