Okey heres the deal.... My friend owed me some money that he couldn't pay me back, so he gave me a laptop that he got from another. The laptot has Windows 2000 and is password protected (when you get into windows). The laptop is a small version and does not have any cd/dvd-drive.

So i found out that i have to reinstall windosw to remove the password and to do that i need to do it throug my home netwok because it dosen't have any cd-drive, is this correct??

Anyway how do i do this

    Thanks

(I asked the same question here, but i didn't get so good answers

Sounds strange that no-one has a password!

If it doesn't have a CD drive, is the spec up to handling XP, you'd be better off with win98 or 2000 if the spec isn't up to much.

You need a floppy drive, so then either just make a boot disk for the laptop with the correct network drivers and then map to the cd on another machine.

Easiest way would be to get about 6-7 floppies and just make windows xp startup disks on another computer and load it via floppy all the way.
