how do you password files?

    how do you password files? I am running windwos xp home dition, i want to password some documents, how do i do this??

    Use WinZip, and when adding files, click the Encrypt or Password button...

    There are many other solutions as well, but I like WinZip because you can then take the files to another computer and open them (usually) without having to install any other applications.

    However, WinZip encryption is not secure, if someone wants to access your files, it's easy to crack the password. WinZip Pro has 128-bit and 256-bit AES encryption, but you'd have to buy it... so it really depends if you want real encryption, or just casual password protection.
