Hello people....i've read through the forum, looking for a tip on how to put my divx file onto cdr. But frankly nowt here to help....does this mean that it cant be done....when i try to use virtual dub the audio is too large ...i try differant compressions but still no joy (lame mp3)....does any body have a step by step guide cos i'm pretty new at this stuff
Id suggest using CDeX to compress your audio to mp3 and virtualdub to mux it in with the movie. http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/cdexos/cdex_140_enu.exe?download You can burn divx movies on your cd-rs just make sure to burn it as a data cd._X_X_X_X_X_[small]Life is but a dream...so wake me up already!!![/small]
Like I said...i'm pretty new at this, when i have compressed my audio form lame mp3 to mp3 how do i 'mux' it using virtual dub. and once i've done that do i still need to burn as a data cd.......you'll have to be patient with me....lol
Ok, this divx file, did you create it yourself? Why do you want to compress the audio of the file? Muxing the audio with your video means you combine the two streams. You can mux the audio by click on the Audio menu and selecting Wav audio. Yesa if you want to burn an avi on a cd you need to burn it as a data cd.
Hi, I am trying to compress the audio of a film so that i can put it on 2 cdr's the film is 712mb so i need to cut it in the middle, but opening it in tmpgenc ...there are no audio spikes. So i try and run it through virtualdubmod but the audio file size is huge...i've tried differant compressions but they all turn out big too !!!! Maybe I'm doing something wrong in vdub.
There are other methods you could try to fit that movie onto one disk. You could try and use Nero to overburn those extra 12 Mbytes onto the disk. Ive never done it so Im not quite sure how. You can try searching for a thread on overburning though. You can cut out unimportant parts of the movie, like the ending credits for example with virtualdumod. Load movie into virtualdubmod Hold Shift key and drag slider to the beginning of the e. credits, and press Home. Hold Shift key and drag the slider to the end of the e. credits and press End. Press Delete. Save Movie. If you still want to decrease the bitrate of the audio: Load movie into vdubmod. In streams menu click on stream list. Click Demux. ------------------------ Open CDeX. Get into the options menu and select settings. Set Bitrate Min to something lower than the original bitrate of the mp3 file. Get into convert menu and select Mpeg->Mpeg. Find directory where you demuxed the mp3 file. If you want to add a Wav Header to your file select the box Riff-Wav. If not Uncheck. Click Select all and then Convert. --------------------------- Load the movie into virtualdubmod. Get back into the stream list and select Disable. Click add and choose the audio file you created with CDeX. Save Avi. Good Luck.
Nice one....i'll give it a go. But if i just stick to snipping off the credits and intro do i then burn it onto disk as a data cd and will it play in my dvd player?
If you burn it as a data cd it should'nt work in your dvd player i have never tryed it but i am more than sure it dont work!!
The only way you can play a divx movie on your dvd player is if the player can decode mpeg 4 content. If you want to watch your divx movie on your dvd player youll have to convert it to a vcd or svcd. http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/ The options I gave you have nothing to do with how to view your movie on your dvd player. Only to shave off a few Mbytes so that you can fit it on one cd-r. I thought you were going to watch your movie only on your computer.
I have a few divx5 movies i got off the net. When i VCD them they are stretched to buggery(width is good height is the problem) Is there anything i can do to make them not stretched? And what programs should i use?
You seem to have a problem with the resolution. Personally, I don't re-encode my divx/xvid movies to vcd so Im not sure how to help. But you should use a program like TMPGEnc to convert your files. There guides available here: http://www.afterdawn.com/articles/
Check out www.bigpockets.co.uk Umax 6100 DiVX DVD Player 5.1 DVD Player £99 Has anyone heard good or bad reviews on this player?
The Umax is one of several Asian players based on the Sigma decoder chip. Liteon now has 2 models and Mitsumi has one as well. I have not seen any reviews of the Umax player so I can't coment on it specifically. I have been very happy with my Liteon LVD-2001. It sells in the US for 139$ up to 200$. You can order online from www.newegg.com, or it is available at some Target stores.
Interesting, what sort of files have you tried, and how were they encoded? xvid/divx/mp3/b-frames/video bitrate etc...
When I burn Avi onto a CD-R and watch them on my dvd player on my TV its not full screen its more like its playing with original size. Is there a way to change that ? It also begins by saying : " Reading Index " What is that ? Is it a file I can include so I can select full screen or what is it ? NASHER-DK
I have bought the LITE-ON for 130 Euro! But i still think its crappy.. Because the standalone DivX-Dvd player only regordnise 2 codecs.. Wich means all the other movies i ripped for example with the MS codec, won't work in it! Now i have all .avi files with the wrong codec. Does anyone knows were i can download a proggie to change codecs from .avi files?! Thnx a-lot~!
