Benq 1620 is not riplocked, just a little slower than others. My litey will rip quite a bit faster than my benq but I prefer the benq for burning.

What are some of your system specs? cpu, ram, hdd space, o.s.
What are your quality settings in dvd shrink?

If your using dvd decrypyter & dvd shrink it can vary massively - some films you can rip, transcode and burn within 45 mins others have taken over 2hrs - the more compression required usually means it takes a bit longer, however the only trend ive found is its usually pron that takes ages to back up for some reason... I always do the deep analysis and have aec set to sharp (default)
