    I always call my Sister my "Baby Sister" but she's 2 years older than me and will be 65 in June! She always corrects me and says "she's my Only sister!

    She's always been my "little sister" and I'm so proud of her. She works for Child Protective Services here in Phoenix and on a daily basis sees some of the sickest most inhumane things people are capable of. I don't know how she she deals with it but those kids are lucky she does because she fights tooth and nail for every one of her kids :)

    Neph, sounds like your sis is a very good person.

    I've met alot of adults who have left bad situations alone. One pal of mine ended up in drug rehab after a long depressing bout with a very emotionally and physically abusive single father.

    He was addicted to Crystal Meth, Crack/Cocaine, and Heroin. He said he used it daily and almost constantly before, during, and after school and all night long until he was too tired to stay awake. He got a bad infection in his right arm from sharing needles(no AIDS though) and they had to remove one of his fingers. He had a very sullen wraithish figure. I could have sworn he was dead when he slept in class.

    He's been clean for about a year now and he's been put in foster care with a very loving family who I know. His father is in prison for 15 years for the abuse he suffered.

    I am glad he was able to find help... my gily was about to comit suicide befor I talked her out of it and got her help! I don't want to go into detail!

    It sounds like your sister is doing a great thing! We could use her here in Washington, we are the state with the highest percentage of child abuse! I though you lived in the UK not Arizona!
    I'll be flyin into Sky Harbor internation next week so yeah I will be in your Hometown!

    It takes a "special" kind of person to handle all the emotions you have to go through in dealing with abused children. It's what I wanted to do growing up. First year of College went fine and then about 3/4 of the way through our second year we started doing clinical studies as observers in the clinics in the ghettos of Newark. I used to go home and cry! My wife finally told me to either stay in the Dental business, choose a new career or a new wife because if I didn't quit, she was leaving! I just didn't have it in me. I wasn't hard enough! God bless people like your sister because the world is a much better place because of people like her! BTW! I eventually went back to school 20 years later for the last 2 years and got my degree.

    back on topic I'm 44 today yippee!! the mother in law got me 6 pairs of thermal socks as i work outside on the railways on nights, so maybe she does like me?
