    Hi there!

This site's helped me out enormously over the last couple of months so I wonder if you could help me out once more?

I've downloaded a foreign film in MP4 format which has English subtitles accompanying it as a .txt file. Trouble is I'm unsure how to add the subtitles. I've previously used AutoGK with AVI files but it doesn't seem to accept the MP4 format.

    Any ideas?

Plus, once I've added the subtitles, what'a the best way to convert the MP4 file to DVD+R (as AVI? BUP/VOB?) so it will play on my home DVD player?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue here is one way i searched the internet and found this give it a try. I think this method is for iphone but it might work

I would advise you to scan the exe files you download on this site first http://www.virustotal.com/ cause a lot of exe files are infected.I also found this thread on afterdawn about it ithttp://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/660509. If none of these methods work I am going to take the long route use convertxtodvd then autogk to rip to avi then either use autogk to add subtitles or use virtualdub to embed them

I am not sure what you guys are looking for...What is the end product that you're aiming for? Do you want the subs embedded or you want to be able to turn them on/off?
DVD Flick or ConvertxtoDVD should be able to add the subs for you if you want to make a DVD that plays using your standalone DVD player.

I was looking for a way to add subs to a mp4 file so i could play it on my ps3 but no one could give me a way to do it. so i just used convertxtodvd to convert to dvd then used autogk to convert to avi and add the subs as well and it worked perfectly

A quicker way is to convert the subtitles (.txt) to .srt format. Then you can just add the subtitles in convertxtodvd when you convert the film. Although I'm not sure if you can just and the .txt as subtitles in convertxtodvd.
