I personaly like Xilisoft, (shareware). You need to convert the avi file to an iso image and then burn it to a disc. There should be no reason for 700mb to take up the whole disc. After its converted to an iso image it will be under 2 gigs, and with that in mind you can add more than movie file to your disc and save a couple of disc's.
