Yep I know man, its a strange to me anyway since u have all the appropriate codecs and everything. Just as a slight chance, did you try virtualdubmod or nandub??

ok i also have tmpgenc and have been having problems converting my avi files to mpg format. I have noticed that the files in which i'm trying to convert say that they are .avi however when i goto properties are .ts. I am about to give up you are my last hope for now.

ok dela i have tried virualdubmod however it won't even open the .avi file i want to open it say's that it is copy writed and it errors out. Nik99 you can download virualdubmod at virualdub.org i have not tried nandub yet however i will try tonight better yet how about you try nik99 since i believe that we are trying to do the same thing we'll split the home work. lol
I have heard that this technique is possible however i haven't seen to many avi to mpg formated movies at kazaa and if it were an easy thing to do i would think that there would be many more just something to think about. i'm still not going to give up though.

Nik, VirtualDUBMOD and nanduib are both the same as virtualdub except a few small differences!!

and only way i can hear sumthin i by conectng my system on full blast..
    now my question
    1- is it possible.
2-just like we cann normalize a audio file can i do sumthin here?\
3-is ther some othr progie that can increas only the volume of my mpg bfore i burn
4- or shd i look at anothr burinng prog altogethr?

VCDEasy?? its very straight forward, add in the mpeg files and perhaps make some chapters and burn! lol

Ok, this is the problem i have when trying to convert my avi movie which is in 2 parts one is bigger than 700mb im trying to encode with tmpge but i cant find where i can combine the 2 avi together then split it so that i can break the mb to be somewhat even...i havent ran into this problem before and would like some help..
after prt 1 is encoded its 739 mb and prt 2 is 495 and i want to take some off of pt 1 and add it to pt 2 to keep 2 discs to burn and not 3 ...

What I recommend you do is try maybe to use VirtualDUB to join the files or just encode and then use TMPGEnc to merge and split the files after they have been encoded!

Yep thats true if its VCD he's burning! Although a 700mb file and a 400mb file, i'd doubt it!

I have no problems converting avi's to mpeg's using the project wizard. However i have one slight problem, even when using the highest quality motion search precision, movement of people etc in the film is not 100% smooth. The other interesting thing is that if i use TMPGENC with manual settings i can never burn the resulting mpeg for use in my DVD player whereas using the wizard always works. I used the manual settings thinking that increasing 25fps to 30fps might cure this non-smooth movement problem. Any ideas??
