    cyprusrom,

Thanks... I went and bought a DVD player that plays them.
In a trial from this post; I used Nero to burn the data disk.

Some many disks will be saved :)

Hope you got a good one, maybe something that up converts and plays of an USB also. I haven't done any conversion in quite a while, since I bought a cheap Xbox on ebay and I play all the videos( mpeg, divx, H.264, RMVB...) through the Xbox.

The original Xbox can do that? That's great.
I saw some used Xbox yesterday at Gamestop. What else can you do with it? (besides playing games?)

Yes, the original XBOX can do that. I got mine for $25, sofmodded it( easier than I thought, as I never touched one before). Then you install XBMC, and you can play all the music/videos off your computer, through your Xbox on your TV, or put a big HDD in your box and copy everything to it ( I went with a 500GB),

Thanks for the info - What is the softmod? Some kind of Bios or F/W
update? The Xbox is connected to the PC thru ethernet cable?
    This is sounding really good.

Can you recommend a web site for further "research" ?

Yes, you connect your XBOX to your PC using an ethernet cable.

XBMC plays about any video file extension out there, it is the best Divx player I think. No more wasting time converting or burning to discs.

Since I did not know anything about XBOX and such, I was a bit overwhelmed reading through all the guides and such( you can do a hot swap also). However, once I got all that i needed, the process took maybe 5 minutes.

You can softmod using a hot swap also.

sorry about that. hit enter on my phone and it sent and it shouldn't of. the dvd player does have a usb port. so much easier than converting them to iso imageswhere took forever to convert over; it took the length of the movie.
