hello, ive read the step to step guide located in this forum on how to burn images using alcohol 120%. now i have 4 mdf files and 4 mds files:
thesims2cd1.mdf-thesims2cd1.mds and so on, my question is in the image burning image tool in alcohol should i place in the mds file or the mdf file? and what is the recommended burning speed for burning images, coz ive read that its preferable to burn with low speed. my cd-rw has a burning speed of 52x, so what should be the recommended speed for burning sims 2? also, if ive burned the 4 images succesfully to 4 cds, how do i install the game to the pc? do i insert the first cd then it will prompt me to insert the second cd then the third and so on?
plsss tell me what to do, coz i'm new at this and lost. plsssss help me. thank u veryyyy much!!!!!

    select the mds file
make sure you select the safedisc 2/3 template
    burn a 4x if possible
you should be able to install it just like the orignal, insert the first disc, let it install and it should prompt you for the other 3 discs

after you have selected your image file to burn you get a screen to select you writer/burnspeed/write method etc. at the bottom of this screen there is a dropdown menu with datatype next to it click the arrow ann select safedisc 2/3 from there

so should i choose safedisc 2/3 for sims2cd2, sims2cd3 and sims2cd4 also? if not, then should i leave the datatype customize?

    Hey, how u guys going?
I just bought miself a copy of the sims 2 and want to back it up. I put it in Alcohol and it starts backing up but keeps giving me errors in the log window like:
"Read data examination error at: 10034". It continues fine but these errors keep coming up. Is that alright, or wont it work?
    Cheers.

Along this same line, I created an sim2 disk 1 image file with Alcohol and am trying to run the game with a CD emmulator. The game is installed. I don't want the kids to mess up the disk. When I start the program, however, it says that a CD emmulator was detected and to turn it off and restart the game. How can I get around this?

Hey, i got the emulator working. but now, as i start playing the game, it works (really slugishly) for about ten seconds, then my computer reboots.
I have a GeForce 4 MX 420. I checked the system reqs and it says it should be alright. Is this my video card or is it the emulation? Help?
