I am using Nero for burning and Shrink to rib the disk. Am currently using Memorex as my DVD will be the last time I buy this brand anyhow. The DVD is 8X but, would like to slow down the speed to have better results if possible. I went into Nero to change the speed but, am not given any options to change the speed other than to 8x which it is currently already on. Can you not change the speeds on some DVD's?

That would depend on what the max/min speed on your DVD Burner is. My burner has a max. of 4x and a min. of 2.4x

I always burn at the lowest speed anyways to get the highest quality burn.

If you have it try using a different program to burn to a dvd and see if another program will allow you to change the burn speed.

Hmm, so Nero won't allow you to change the speed of the burns?

Use Fuji discs & you can easily burn at 8x without any playback problems.
