how to compress a .avi file??

    I recorded a .avi file but it's so big..about 50 seconds but 50MB!!...so how can I compress it to smaller size?...Is there a software to help me?Thx.

    Download VirtualDUB http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm

    open the avi file in it and click video - compression. Depending on the codecs you have installed there will be a list of compression options on your left. choose one and click ok. Click file - save avi. A very handy thing now is that virtualdub gives an estimate of the output filesize so if its to big you can cancel and try another compression.

    I've downloaded the VirtualDub.....but it compress my .avi file so slow...can it be faster or any other compresstion tool~? Thx.

    No I don't know of any other that will compress it. Im so used to VirtualDUB now that there probably is some better around now that i missed.
