I'm in the same boat. It took me a while to figure it out the first time and now i have to configure it again cuz both my pcs networking and xbox settings were changed. I'm able to ftp and share from my computer using flashfxp/ccxstream (crossover cable) but the xbox cant connect to the internet . The NIC settings going to my xbox have the ip 192.168.0.3 , subnet 255.255.255.0 and everything else is blank. My xbox ip is 192.168.0.2 and subnet 255.255.255.0 . Now I've tried different configurations where my nic card/xbox has the ".3" gateway and/or dns but so far none have been successful in giving my xbox its internet connection. Any ideas ?

Cable modems do not differ from any other home network setup!

Refer to my networking tutorial first, see how you get on.

Basically, to make life easier for yourselves, buy a cheap switch.

Connect everything you want to share to the switch and assign each an IP address on the same network. Then they can all communicate and share resources (like the internet).
