I've tried to run my dvd (I recorded on a lite on 5045)thru dvdshrink to edit it and it gets an error. How can you edit your home made DVDs on your computer??
    Thanks!

DVD Shrink, Is not a video editor.

It will shrink a retail DVD to fit onto a 4.7GB blank DVD disk, that’s it main use.

I do a lot of home video editing, I use pinnacle 9.43 to do the editing and burning to DVD, this is the kind of software you need to be looking at.

I also have the Lite-on 5045, it can as you said copy to HDD etc, however the edit functions are very very limited.

I have a LiteOn LVW-5005 and I use DVD Shrink in reauthor mode to edit out unwanted commercials etc from my DVDs. I rip it to my PC with DVD Decrypter (in file mode) You can also use NeroVision Express.
