I need to extend wlan signal from place A to place C, by purchasing a modem which will be placed in place B (obviosly place B is between places A and C). The thing is that the modem should capture the signal and pass it on. I don't have any idea what kind of modem there is in place A. does anyone have any experience in this area and would guide me how to get this work.
I have a LAN in the office which i have run to the other end of the warehouse and installed a WLAN to (WIRED TOGETHER) and that works fine for me, have never tried using 2 routers to connect to each other.
You could also set up wireless at point A, place a repeater and point B to carry the signal to point C. You can either get a WRT54g (earlier version) and put DD-WRT on it and set it up as a wireless repeater (one antenna receives and the other transmits) or you can buy a repeater.
