How do you go about extracting audio files from app's such as keygen's? I know it sounds weird however, I have come across a few keygen's that have audio files start up as soon as you run the app. Which program would/should I use?

    Thanks

I believe that Total Recorder will record any sound the PC makes. Give it a try.

I tried it using all available options to me...no such luck...used v4.2 Pro. It seems the audio is integrated/embedded into the program...no audio files in the folder...unless they are hidden...suppose it's possible. Didn't think to look.

Okay, things are looking up. I was able to record the audio. Now my problem lays within the program.......I think......I will record the whole file however, when you press "Play" for playback, it keeps repeating the first 2 seconds. What is the trick to get around this? I have looked over every inch of the program and nothing is set for continuous playback.....2 seconds.....etc. You think you could aide me?

    Thanks again for your help.

Not sure what you're trying to say. Press play in what? The keygen program with the audio? or the recorded file?

Sorry about that, I should have specified. The "Play" I was referring to was the recorded file, NOT the keygen (there is a "play" option to either turn the music on or off. The RECORDED file keeps repeating the first 2-3 seconds. Can't seem to get past that.

    Any thoughts?

If you would permit me, I used a screen capture program to save what I see on my screen. It may not be much help but, what you will see is that there is audio input however, it isn't recording..well, at least..anything more than 2 seconds. Am wondering if it's the program. Have exhausted all avenue's of the program in terms of options. Am looking for new idea's. I do appreciate your help.

Did you setup the system to use the Total Recorder's sound device when it asked you during setup? I think you need to do that if you want it to record the PC sounds.

Yes I did. I also went through all their troubleshooting tips where they talk about "default device" or "no default" device. The recorder is recording the file however, for whatever reason, only the first 2 seconds repeatedly. Very odd...

That could be a trial copy limitation?

According to the web...their "trial limitation" is 40 sec. I had thought of that as well. Good suggestion though. I have Total Recorder Pro v4.2..maybe have to downgrade to the previous version....newer doesn't always mean better right!?

yeah, I've used a couple of different version and never came across a 2 second limit. Give it a go... process of elimination.

Well, I don't know about you but, I am thinking that this can't be done...at least..the way things are going. I reverted back to v4.1 Standard Edition and it's doing the same thing. It will record more then 2.0 second worth however, it's the same 2.0 seconds repeating. Have played with as many settings as possible and still nothing. Not sure what other options I have. It's not like it's life or death that I get this tune,...just sort of "nice to have".

If you've got any other suggestions, I'm all ears.

    Thanks for your help.

Does Totoal Recorder record from other sources OK? Like RealAudio sounds? Have you tried recording to other codecs?

The only codecs I have tried is the LAME MP3, the OGG DLL and a couple of others. It has to be done through the Total Recorder drivers/program....I've tried from Line-In, Mic, CD Audio and all works fine in those departments....just need to find a way to record what is actually being put through the soundcard. Have you ever had this trouble? If you have the program, would you like a "kick at the cat"? I'd be more then happy to send you the keygen and you see if it works any better for you.

    Thx
