Try using a different program for burning the dvd like Nero, or if you have an iso image file, use DVD Decrypter. I don't use copy to dvd, so I'm not sure the options it presents. Are you sure you don't have a cd drive selected instead of a dvd drive for the burn option?

see the thing with nero i have no idea how to convert it through nero if i had a step by step on how to convert i could do it because nero does burn the avi onto the disc but it does not play in a stand alone avd player only on the pc. I beleive that reason being i did nto convert it first so if you could tll me how to convert on nero

    hey fellow noob...

maybe the problem is the program you are using might not be compatable with the type of media you are using..

for example i was ready to burn a dvd iso with dvd decrypter
but it would not comply with my blank dvd media (a dvd-R)
then i used a dvd+r and it burned correctly..

Doesn't divx to dvd generate an iso image file? The file you specify for copy to dvd would be the same one selected for burning in Nero I think. I don't use divx to dvd so I can't be more specific.

Dvd Santa baby. I used this program multiple times. Any video file you have it will convert and burn. It is a little time consuming though.
