I had the same problem you have now, I could sync my phone book but got no response from the Mobile Explorer.
Turns out I was running an older version of MPT so if you haven't make sure you update yours - then strangely enough all it took was a restart of my phone and it was good to go, so be sure to try that, if you haven't already. The fact that it shows up as a modem is ok.

It's funny that, cos that does often work. This is one of the first things you should try if the connection between phone and computer is a bit dodgy.

I've followed your instructions, Gem and I can back stuff up and thats about it. Every time I try to open the multimedia explorer in Multimedia studio, the studio program crashes. Any idea of what is causing this? Also it wont let me transfer images with the Image part of the program.

Not really sure, cos that never happened to me but i would probably first try just restart the phone and software, if that doesn't work, try restarting the computer, then maybe do an uninstall and reinstall.
Have made sure that it is connecting properly and everything?
And did you use my download links?

    jinkai,
It just means that the software is using the generic image for the phone instead of an image of your phone. This usually only happens with the lower versions but sometimes it will happen with the higher ones. But if it happens all the time, then there is probably something wrong. Cos it should use your own phone image.
Which version are you using at the moment?

Followed the instructions and whatnot for my V300 but it's still stuck in the "initiallizing..." screen. Except that i updated to 3.28 and they seemed to have changed it to "Please wait..." so i cant really do much. Any suggestions?

For those of you who are having trouble initialising your phones, re-read the original post on this thread. I have put a bit in about what to do if you can't get your phone and computer to initialise.

    Good Luck!!

Ah, whenever i went to "setup" and then "new phone" i disconnected the cable from the phone and not my computer. Read your advice and disconnected the usb cable from my computer and now it works. Thank you!

I can see your really helpful Gem, so maybe you can help me. I can open the multimedia portion and it shows the files on my computer, but I cant transfer or see any of the files on my phone. Any ideas?

I keep getting this error whenever I try to LiveUpdate MPT:

    "Update Failed.

The LiveUpdate module has intercepted an error:
The system cannot find the file specified.
    _MASTER_ORIGINE=04038003045NUM_MASTER_ACTUEL=0."

    Anyhelp anyone? I reinstalled twice

Has your phone actually initialised by this point (the screen on the phone in the task bar should be green or red, but not white.
The first thing to check is your drivers.
