You need : (minimal requirements, might not meet actual standards)
1 10mbit connection, with LOTS of bandwidth.
    1 Server
A copy of the game server's code
    Lots of time and patience
    Knowledge of network security
    And so forth.

D: you missed one.. a symmetrical connection and static IP.
Probably a domain too, unless you want to give the world your home IP.
    Some pretty serious firewall hardware.
Depending on load probably more than one computer to run it all.

Actually jan, since 10mbit lines are usually symmetrical *here they are, at least,AFAIK*, i didn't miss that ;-) *i think*
But you have a good point on the static IP, as for system requirements, i will repeat that what i gave a minimal setup, which will no doubt fail to meet current standards...

I'm thinking 100Mbit line (with that static IP) *or several 10mbit lines*, a professional router/hub, hardware firewall, several high end Unix servers, game server code, IT security pro techsupport, and a hand full of support folks, and then you're getting somewhere.
Still not perfect, but doing ok-ish.
