how to make a SD channel look good on a HDTV?

    hi i have dish and i was wondering how can i make the channels look good on my HDTV becuase it is VERY BAD QUALITY! i used to have the Sony KDS-R60XBR2 but i returned it due to the picture of SD channels, and we mostly have all SD channels. please inform me on any tv's that are at least 60 inches to 67 inches.
