I believe there is a tutorial on here somewhere about restoring your dashboard.

Just wondering if there is anychance I could get a sort of tut on how to shortcut it for Unleashx; If this is even possible.

I've already searched for similar results and found nothing.

Another question, is a MS Backup of your C:\ Drive Copyright Matieral?

If not, is it possible to use another person EEPROM, and MS Backup for your own xbox. I've managed to lose my copy, and want a form of insurrance.

Well as long as the shortcut points to your XBMC and you overwrite the dashboard's .xbe file (meaning it would have to have the exact same name) with the shortcut.

just to tell people but ive had the xbmc as my default dashboard before and i know how it should work but i cant get it again. (what happened was i tried to update my xbmc with the bling bling version and it went all wrong but dont worry about that now. ive got the new one on as a sep app)

right. i have the following set up.

im only going to put the files that need to be seen (lazy...)

    C:\backup\
    C:\fonts\
    C:\SID\
    C:\Skin\
    C:\Trainers\
    C:evox.ini
    C:evoxdash.xbe
    C:xboxdash.xbe

    F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe
F:(with all the other normal files you get with xbmc)

when i try to put the 09.17.05 XbeShortcutMaker 1.0 short cut (that should be the most updated) that has the F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe target path, so the short should just redirect the xbox to the F:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe file that i am using at this very moment.

now if i do all that then restart the xbox i get error code 13 (cant find dashboard)
so i end up having to unlock the hd and reinstall the c drive so i can use it again.

ive tried the icon/shortcut name to evoxdash.xbe and xboxdash.xbe and default.xbe
    and it still doesnt work.

but if i open up xbmc from the evox dash it will work fine. and even when im in xbmc and open up the 60kb redirect shortcut from the file explorer it will upload xbmc again.

im thinking that xbox is looking in a different drive when starting up becuase if i remove all other icons other than the shortcut, it crashes

could some one please tell me what im going wrong

    thank you

p.s. ive been looking around the net and ive found that XboxMediaCenter.xml isnt beening used any more so if any one thought that i needed that, its wrong

pics of what ive done so you know i havent done it wrong:

sorry people. ive fixed it. for som reason it was loking on the c drive that directed it to the e drive that had the evox on it. ive now put the shortcut on the e drive and it works perfect.

p.s. i dont think im going to be upgrading for a while becuase its taken 3 days of my life to fix this simple problem lol. nvm

post me if any one has any problems becuase ive delt with quite a few problems that the xbox and xbmc has had so just ask. i bit be a bit of a newb but ive got enough info to help people

    peace out ya'll

I am also trying to set XBMC as my default dash, however, the only problem is I don't have a e/dashboard/. All I have is evoxdash.xbe (or something) located in my E drive. This seems very simple, but I don't wanna mess something up.

EDIT: Do I just overwrite the evoxdash.xbe.
    Also, I am using UnleashX.

Corn I had the same concerns as you, since I followed these same procedures but it never seemed to work. A REALLY easy way to make XBMC your dashboard is to simply download Auto.Installer.Deluxe.v4.0.Xbox-Hq.

You can find it in the usual places :p

Burn the ISO with dvddecrypter or nero and you're set.

It's so simple it even gives you an option to "one click install XBMC as dashboard".

    Hope that helps m8

Well if you have already softmodded your Xbox there is no need to make a backup of the Microsoft dashboard. Also I don't think it's possible considering it has already been written over when you softmodded it.

you can get the micro soft dashboard back. you just need to get HDM. it will take your hard drive and put it back to oringal micro OS so you can use xboxLive and stuff. you have to take the hard drive out and connect it to your pc.

if you need any more help just ask me and ill give you a more helpful explanation of how to do it
