The memcard exploit must be installed first before you even put the trigger disc in.The first thing you need to do is boot the exploit disc using Swap Magic/Modchip etc...It will install the exploit on your memory card.Once it is done installing the exploit you put your trigger disc in(PS1 game you are using for your memcard exploit)and it should launch your menu with all elf programs. The PS1 game you are using has to be put in the Title.db file for example lets say your PS1 game has SLUS_12342.Open up the Titleman Frontend.exe and then open the Title.db file you are going to edit. Now at the bottom left it should have a scroll bar where you can select SlUS_;SLES_;SCUS_ etc...pick the one your PS1 trigger disc corresponds to and type in the rest of the numbers in this case it would be 12342.After you have edited the Title.db file for your exploit rebuild it and install it,then put in your trigger disc and it should bring up your Menu with all the elf files. If you follow the steps you should have no problems, but if you still need help let me know.

Yes you can install it using swap technique, but make sure you follow the very first post from this thread. You will have to change the LBA of the System.cnf to 12231 which is very important for swap users.Look on the very first page of this thread at the very first post and follow the instruction I posted.

You change the LBA in the PS2cdgen program, once you put the file in there it should have an option to change the LBA.You have to use the PS2cdgen program to compile your exploit.

It's not that much different than the first one,but it has different elf files in the folder FILES.It is still using Keylauncher, cause this is what I originally started out with but there are alot of others you can try out.

The first thing you need to do is edit the Title.db file using the TitleFrontEnd program. You must input the Slus,Sles etc...in the Title.db file with this program or your exploit will not work at all.The exploit boots up from the Slus,Sles etc... file in your PS1 disc.Open up an already made Title.db file or you can make one with the program I just uploaded that edits/makes Title.db files.Input your Slus,Sles etc... file Note:make sure you input it exactly the way it displays also, for instance if you have a SLUS file that is SLUS_12342 then type in SLUS_12342 make sure to look at the gap between the Slus,Sles etc... file also cause it can have an underscore, dash,or overscore.

Open up PS2cdgen,then drag and drop in these files:CDVD.IRX ; EXPINST.IRX ; SYSTEM.CNF(Change this file LBA to 12231 in the actual PS2cdgen program) ; Title.db

Now Make a folder called FILES or just drag and drop in the folder called FILES in the package I just gave you.Place your KL.DAT file in there which assigns each elf file to your PS2 buttons. You can also edit the KL.DAT file by opening it up in a text editor incase you want to change the button layout for your elf files or update your exploit with different elf files.

Make another folder called DUMMY or just use the DUMMY folder in the package that has the DUMMY.BIN file in and drag and drop it in the PS2cdgen program.

Last thing you have to do is compile it,which means make it an image file so you can burn it.In the program PS2cdgen you can export it to a .BIN and .CUE file and burn it with Nero Express.Just open up Nero Express and click on the option that says Burn Disc Image or Saved Project. Then browse and find your .CUE file and open it up,then just burn it at a slow speed like 8X or slower is what I normally use so I would recommend this speed.

Once it is done burning, using Swap Trick boot up the memcard exploit just like you would boot up a PS2 cd game.It will install it on your memory card, and once it says done turn off your PS2.Power on your PS2 and put in your PS1 trigger disc and it should boot up the exploit.

Now everytime you would like to use the exploit, all you will have to do is have the memory card plugged in and put in your PS1 trigger disc.

I hope this helps you out,if you need more help let me know.

Ok go check the site I posted earlier it should be up on there. The dummy file isn't really needed, but you can use it.What it does is adds padding to your image file. You can create a dummy file with a dummy file creator or by opening up a text document and using the space bar a bunch of times then just save it as a DUMMY.I made you one though,so it would be alot easier.

The PS1 technique is just using a PS1 game as your trigger disc or you can use Breaker Pro to boot the memory card exploit. It means using anything PS1 based to boot your memory card exploit. It would be nice if somebody made a memory card exploit with the PS2 library(A PS2 Dever would have to take a look at it),but I doubt it will happen. The reason why I say this is because the whole exploit would have to change to work with PS2 discs. You have to think though Dvd reads better than Cd on any PS2 system,so this could infact fix some of the issues people are having with the newer models.

man.... you need to read the forums. that's what they're here for.

the exploit allows you to run homebrew code (progs not licensed by sony) and emulators, backups and other random stuff that makes life great.

and this stuff will be on ur memory card?

(this isnt really related to the topic)but my main question is, if i download a swaping prog like swap magic, can i burn those contents onto a dvd or cd and run it off my ps2 somehow?

the files dont necessarily have to be on or stay on your MC. you can get a HDD to install into your chubby ps2. the MC exploit wont work too well (or at all) on the slim models. you can store the files that you need like codebreaker, or launchelf. launchelf is a homebrew prog that can be stored on the memory card, and allow you to run all kinds of other programs from your MC or HDD such as media players and emulators.

if you down load a swapping program, you'll need to make sure your box is modded because i think you have to have original CDs for the swap magic. as a matter of fact i'm certain you'd need a mod chip for something like that. now if you got original swap CDs then you're good to go, and can do whatever you need. but for backups, you need a modchip.
