ok, thanks guys, let me try this. I have a screenshot of my error and I don't know what it is. I was hoping someone could help me out? Is it Firmware or what?
I used decrypter and shrink, but I'm new to this, so please fill me in if you can about the error, or suggest another method used. Thanks
@Stevo2355 DVD Decrypter is still the King of Ripper if you know how to use it (i.e via the IFO, then File Mode). On the other hand, I highly recommend ripping with Mode, File F instead of ISO, Mode. ISO, Mode is mainly for 1:1 copy i.e. DL or ripping PS2 games etc. Try the following settings inside DVD Decrypter and you'll be surprise how easy it is to rip. I ripped all my dvd movies using DVD Decrypter and so far it's flawless. - go to your hard drive or c: drive and make a folder name HOUSE OF WAX then hit "ENTER" to save it. - now go inside "HOUSE OF WAX" and make another folder name VIDEO_TS<-- YES.. exactly like this, then hit "ENTER" to save it. - now open up DVD Decrypter (version 3.5.4.0) ((NOTE: in prior to “decrypt or rip” the original movie, take a few seconds to check the few following “settings” on DVD Decrypter.)) ** once DVD Decrypter is open, go to Tools, and Settings ** at General “Removal Method” arrow down to “Aggressive” ** at I/O [check or tick] “Ignore Read Errors” ** at CSS [check or tick] “Brute Force --> I/O key exchange, On Failure: use key from another file [YES] ** at ISO Write Mode, [check or tick] “Enable BURN-Proof ** at “ISO Read Mode” and “File Mode” [check/tick] on all of the Remove, Ignore, Patch and Create MDS file ****((Since you have DVD Decrypter open already, now let’s get going with the fun part))**** ** now go to MODE, File F ** choose your “SOURCE” <-- your DVD-Rom drive or DVD burner where the Original movie is located. ** choose your “Destination” <-- browse to your “hard drive” with your newly created folder earlier; example: HOUSE OF WAX, then VIDEO_TS, click on OK. ** now click on “DECRYPT,” [located at the DVD & Burner icon] now wait until it's completed. That's it.... it's pretty sweet isn't it - easy as smoking..!!
I think House of wax has new copy protection on it that decrypter cant crack DVD Decrypter is no longer updated and there are a few movies coming out that DVD Decrypter cant rip. so try to download anydvd and run that in the background while using DVD Shrink. You can get a trial version of it at the link below. http://www.slysoft.com
Also if you have anydvd, in dvd decrypter under Tools<Setting</I/O select ElbyCDIO-Elaborite Bytes to help dvd decrypter and anydvd work better togather. This is what ireland recommended and it seems to work well.
@BaNaKa It isnt that hard to do. I just use my webspace that i get from my ISP to upload the pictures to and then link them that way. Most ISP will give you some webspace to make a personilized homepage. You could even open up an Angelfire acount or geocities acount and upload pictures to thiere server and link the pictures to it. Lots of ways to do it. But you will have to upload the pictures to a site to link too. then once you get the pick uploaded type the tag to link it that simple.
yeah, i went to photobucket right after i read about it and I had my error screenshot on this site asap and quick responses, so it's worth it.
ok, one other thing (referring back to my error screenshot) At the moment I just have a dvd burner and I read several threads and I ordered a LITE ON SOHD-16P9S rom drive from Newegg today so I don't wear out my burner. I already know where to get the firmware for the rom drive, now is it suggested that I update my firmware on my burner too or what?
Hi Mort/Ireland etc I must be dumb as a bag of nails. I can't seem to enter a screenshot into my posts here. I have Gadwin. Saved a screen shot, but what do I do then. I used copy and paste - Doesn't work Ed
In this thread, we show how to use paint program (included with windows so almost everyone has it) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259299 Once you have your screenshot set to the proper size, and any comments included, you just host the image. I use http://imageshack.us/ once that host site has your picture, you just link to it here using the format listed before. (you cant do a cut and paste) [*img]http://your image url here[*/img] put your image host url between the brackets and remove the * from it. That's all there is to it. Easy as smokin.. just remember to have img as lower case in those brackets. Imageshack gives an example, but you want the last url listed. I just go to it, doubleclick on url, right click copy, and go back to my post and place URL in between the img brackets. Just remember to keep pic width size to somewhere below 725 pixels wide or you throw off the AD site formatting, and everyone has to scroll to read after you post a wide shot. Using paint for screen captures is EASY, very easy. And sometimes a picture just does a better job of explaining things. here is the url location you should use, if using imageshack to host: It's not hard to do once you get the hang of it.
Yeah, exactly as MaxBurn said. And thanks to the patience of LOCOENG even I can get it right @BaNaKa Imageshack is great and easy too!
I use MWSnap , its free and you can get it here : http://www.onlythebestfreeware.com/category.asp?category_id=19 One thing that was not mentioned about MS Paint , is that you can press the [bold]Print Scrn[/bold] button in the upper right section of your keyboard. This has the same effect as cutting , in CUT and Paste , or COPY and Paste. Then you can open MS Word or MS Paint or whatever and then right click, then click on Paste to paste what ever was on your screen when you pressed the Print Scrn button, to that application. PS I used MWSnap to grab the MWSnap info.
So in short: 1.] Use MWSnap or some similar program 2.] Plus http://imageshack.us/ or another hosting site 3.] Follow AD`s instructions for inserting an image: 4.] Will give you this:
BINGO! Yes, i forgot to mention the way i get a screen capture is to do a ctrl+PrtScrn button. This captures the whole screen, open up paint, right click in the new image area, and do a paste. The you go thru the change image attributes in paint to reduce the size. Other than that, it is quick and easy.
@Maxburn - what program do you use to do those screen shots? How did do the editing part (circling the link in a red circle with arrow pointing to it)? I've been looking for that program. I've seen some awesome guides on here done the same way. Thanks in advance, newtechie
