gus, can I FTP with a crossover cable? Or do I need a cat5?

My friend just got me a crossover cable, so I hope it works.

 

you can ftp with either it doesnt make a diffrense in speed However it does make a diffrense to what your connecting.... a cross over goes in the back of the pc . i have a simple if not one of the best tut on my signiture on www.xbox-hq.com i strongly courage you to check out the website maybe it has all your answers to your xbox modding and im sure quite a few members from here @ AD can vouch for me when i mean check out xbox hq .

Ok i put it in my xbox dose the program stay on your xbox or do you have to put in splinter cell every time mine has a diffrent screen. and i am trying to find out how to mode halo 2 maps if anyone can help me

 

like i said im not going to talk about halo modding or anything off topic , once a softmod is enabled its like a chip , unless you turn it off it on ..

 

Sorry if this question has already been adressed, I tried to read through the whole thing but it was quite long (I got to page 3). Good Turorial though, very thourough unlike others I have seen.

I did the mod, word for word from your tut. When I finished and rebooted, the finalization process started, when it finished it shut down and rebooted into the MS dash. Now when I start my xbox up, it boots up as normal then the light turns red and stays that way (to my knowledge red is not a good color). It alwasys asks for the time when I start it up and does the same thing with both of the buttons. I am rather anxious to get my box modded, so if you could, somehow contact me (I know you are not supposed to leave emails).

Either way, I'll be checking back frequently so PLEASE HELP!!!

EDIT: I finally read my way through this clutted thread. Gus: you say that red means the mod is active? I get the red light but the standard MS dashboard.

 

Yep you got it buddy , red means active green means retail . easy fix m8 just set correct time and date then quickly turn it off and turn it back on normaly and it should work . this usualy happens if you dont have and or set your time right . and by now your xbox is officaly modded . note this ms clock thing will happen after you leave your xbox unpluged for 3 or 4+ hrs. Could anyone tell me in very untechnical terms how to network using FTP. I am having difficulty with this and am getting very frustrated. I have a router connecting my xbox and my PC. No crossover cables ect. ect.

Please help!

Hi, i had ms dash 4920, but as soon as i connected my xbox to router (internet) it has updated automitically.(Mesage appeared : xbox live will now update your xbox softwre please do not turn off)My dash is now 5960. Can i still install softmodlite? if not wat do i have to do to make softlite work? Please reply.

 

yes you can this softmod will do it all. no matter what xbox ver ntsc or pal this does it all.... please read what is needed to do .... small things and if you want to further get detailed then hit me up on www.xbox-hq.com/html and im gus738 as well over there.

Thanks Gus for the fix. My Xbox is now completly softmodded.

Only somehow I managed to delete my MS dash and I cant find the backup...

Anyway I can restore the MS dash without affecting my softmod?

 

I read all through the forum, and I've heard nothing about my problem. When I try to copy the installer to my MC nothing happens. I don't know what to do. Please help me, as I am a noob.

 

you using action replay can you copy any of the saves that came with is and what size it the memory card

 

I'm using AR, I've never had trouble copying anything to it before, and It's an 8 MB MC.

 

VERY bad question I think, but just to make sure.. Can the Mechassualt DEMO work? I know it's a stupid questiin , but I just don't want to buy Mechassualt or Splinter cell (Which I CANNOT find at BlockBuster)!

 

BigPirate how did you deleted ur dash? and why would you want to restore?...... IF your looking @ C you wont see anything this is normal... its shadowded so nobody can break the mod.

@ Cavadara once you download aid 3 transfer the zipped files to your mem card then go to memory section on the xbox and choose hd then choose mem card and look at the files them self not the folder and copy them .... it should be 2 files.

AND Cavadara dude just buy a damn game your modding your xbox get real... they only cost between $5-15 bucks i got mine for 10 and i love 007 agent under fire... you can get them on ebay or eb games or gamestop or any pawn shop... and make sure they arent platinum.
