the reason your mem card wont save anything is because your not puttin the right stuff in it!

if you want linux on ur xbox there should be a save in community saves on your xbox it should say "linux launcher"

 

No, I've tried getting help from everyone. They've even sent me the stuff I need. It just won't drag and drop. Nothing happens. I even opened the AR through the C drive and inserted the files but they don't appear. I can't figure it out.

 

I would like to restore my MS dash, but keep the softmod in place. I need xbl access (yes, I know banhammer. I have dual boot retail installed but it only either boots into a game or into the UnleashX dash. I need to get to MS dash to set up a trial account (just for custom games, I am fully aware that bungie bans).

So i would like for dual boot to work but it only boots into UnleashX and says the file doesnt exist when i try to access it.

 

Does anyone know to softmod so it ACCUTALY WORKS

@ Cavadara this softmod does work you just unzipped the sid 4.5 files... they are needed to be ZIPPED as it says on the tut!....

 

@gus heres the thing: dual boot no longer works, i have no access at all to MS dash, i doubt if the file even exists anymore... what i want is a way to get the MS dash back as a secondary dash but the file cant be found

 

so your saying when you tried putting dual boot=retail it installed fine but you dont see a microsoft dashboard right? this is normal.... on sid 4.5 the ms dashboard will NOT be fully displayed if you want to change a setting to to modded mode ( red ) and run ms dash from there... but for retail ms dash cannot be fully loaded...

Sorry, I dont know how to PM (i'm such a noob). yes i installed SID 4.0 and I need to get to the standard dash so I can create a new XBL account

 

oh ok now we going somewhere... ok for people to put xbox live accounts on a sid 4.0 system you need to uninstall it then put accounts then re mod ....

i'd recommend sid 4.5 if you plan on going to xbox live...

the .net frame work thing doesnt work it still wont run my dot halo program wat else do i need for dothalo to work i desperatly need somthing to make it work

i know this is a stupid question but how is SID 4.0 different than 4.5... I know there are differences I am just curious as to what they are...

@dogsniper- did you install the framework? If so try reinstalling it. I have Windows XP on a Emachine and dothalo works just fine for me.

 

in short .... sid 4.0 has a " eeprom patch " which means it would hide your real eeprom so you dont acidently unlock your hd ... so for say you try to run configmagic on sid 4 it wont let you... how is this good? say your lil bro or sis or cousin ( they are noobs to xbox) and they want to play so they just mess with it ... sid 4 is more proctive then sid 4.5

due to its eeprom patch 4.0 was buggy for pal users and RARELY some ntsc games wouldnt play without doing some messing with softmod ...

but for noobs or to protect your xbox best i'd suggest sid 4.0 but for xbox live users or pal users i'd suggest sid 4.5

 

Hi.

I can get the save files onto the Xbox and get the SiD4 menu, but when I try to do this step:

"This is a KEY step! Now that the installer has loaded, go to 'CREATE MS BACKUP'. This is incase you want to unmod your Xbox for any reason/technical reason."

I get this error message:

Batch process failed.
The last item was: FOUND EXISTING SOFTMOD
Action: Rename

I have no Idea what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Problem sorted, just needed to update my Dash .

Where can you get map mods etc.?

 

map mods are pretty easy to make with dothalo, but if you are really lazy, you should check out a site like halomods.com. It is mainly PC mods and I have never tried any. There are also some great tutorials on how to make some really cool mods on http://tutorials.moddb.com/169/List-of-100-Halo-2-Tuts/ (edit this if I'm not supposed to give an adress.) PM me for some more cool sites.

if you want map mods you need to go to a place that has ppf's and use ppf o matic to attach them to the maps on your hdd!

you cant find actual modded maps on the internet cause it is illegal!
