ok i got it to work here is what i did
found one on mirc the xbins looked hard
but didntlike it so i used FTP to replace the files of the one i didnt like with one found in the .rar of one i did like and its tighter than a 12 year old ;p

 

ok so i followed the tutorial, and well it works. now is it me or softmodding the xbox allows u to save games to the hard drive? because i cant seem to find it on the evolution x screen. if this is illegal to talk about sorry.

ive been looking on google for 2 days, looking for "saving games to xbox hard drive" or "copying games to hard drive" but nothing. anyone help me out?

 

Yes but only if the game is small enough to fit on your hard drive. Personally I just back mines up to my PC and burn it to DVD to play. But some people like to keep it on their hard drive.

Basically you have to install AID 3 to get all your options, menus, apps, skins etc. So follow Gus's links for that. Then when it is installed, run - DVD2XBOX and it's pretty simple step by step to saving the game to the xbox. After that reboot the xbox, and go to - launch games from HDD where games will run from the HD, provided they are small enough to fit.

i have the original xbox, (softmodded)
(so original HD) with evolution x

im getting a 260 maxtor HD, in mail by ebay. ive read places where it said, i dont need to re-mod it or w.e. but what do i do to (i guess transfer /lack of better words) what i have on my original HD to the big boy?

i take it i have to load the cd (AID 3) to run it?? or what.

well keeping aid 3 is a must have thats 1 , upgrading the hard drive is very good and very needed. on a softmoded xbox you use a program called xboxhdm1.9 so basicly you use it with a pc to make this a hard drive.

those hard drives that are " unlocked" and ready for modded xbox will NOT work for a softmoded xbox... insted you WILL get error code 05

a softmoded xbox need a LOCKED hard drive. as where a chipped xbox does not .

so those hard drives they told you about are for chipped xbox.

their is a UNIQUE CODE for each xbox this is called EEPROM.. with this code you will be able to lock your hard drive .

oh yea about the ftp, is this a good site to follow? http://www.chefelf.com/xbox/networking.php i have no other place to teach me how to ftp the xbox, i understand EVERYHTHING else, but the ftp is kinda confusing.

i plug an ethernet to the back of th box then where? the router?? the comp? well thanks. oh and now that i have evo x, it doesnt have any APPS, u know to copy games to the HD. where can i get the apps? i downloaded dvd2xbox, any good?

 

yay softmodded xbox now the only thing i know how to do is rip a dvd to HD and back stuff up hum i thought soft modding was hard now finding what to do and how to do it is hard

BUT now that its connected.......... how do i access it?? i heard something about ftp.xbox:xbox@____.__._._- is this true, if so i tried it and nothing, it looks like if it wants to connect, minute(s) later it says an error. i also went into network connections, and something about TCP/IP and right click properties and typed in the xbox's ip address and well yea, confused.............!!!!!!!

 

look up the IP thats the address and the pass word is xbox and the username is xbox

 

i dont mean to brag but alot of xbox hq users said that my tut really clears out things , check under my sig.... you just gotta pay attention to 2 things.. 1 ) the type of cable a crossover or a non cross over...

2) once wired up type up your ip along with your settings ftp program etc etc....

highly recommend flashfxp best...
