    hi there

ok, tryed canopus and i wasnt impressed! only did a few minutes as it would take 3 hours or something quailty sucked, but it does have many features and setings so you could probably get a good image? but with loads of hassle and testing? maybe?

going on to cucusoft avi convertor v5.09 - report back tomorrow!

and other apps to try you know of? except dvd santa.

    hi

i tryed cucusoft and not impressed!

it does the video first then the sound, then checks the sounds? then multiplexes the lots and then makes an mpeg when you click DVD

so what if i clicked mpeg would i get a dvd?

    wierd!

2 hours for 350meg of avi

    divxtodvd is still top!

Man i'd swear that cucusoft was the way to go .Had done a lot of my conversions with it(anywhere from 2 -18 hours) and thought nothing would replace it.Was i wrong.Tried the mainconcept mpeg encoder and was surprised at the quality and the speed that it took (90mins)to encode but what really annoyed me was that evey file i have tried to date has had this problem. The picture is perfect but i only can get 18 minutes of sound and then it just cuts out.
Neph suggested that divx to dvd would probably be better but i was very sceptical at that but again i am proved wrong. Now i have tried 5 files with it and had 5 successes .The quickest has been 43 minutes for a music concert and 1 hr for a film.
