How to take subtitles out of an mkv file?

    i have a mkv video vile. i dont know if im allowed to say were i got it from. anyway when i open the file in classic media player i can take off the subtitles. However, when i got to burn it there are subtitles on it and it says that there are no subtitles on. anyone know how i can get rid of the subtitles to burn? thanks

    One way I have used:
    Load the .mkv into VirtualDubMod.
    Click 'Streams' 'Stream List'
    Highlight the Matroska text stream and click 'Disable' [hatch marks appear through stream list] then 'ok'.
    Click 'Video' 'Direct Stream Copy' then 'File' 'Save As..'
    Select 'save as MKV type' with a new name.
    The file is saved without recompressing, minus the sub stream.

    Note: if you want a copy of the subs from the video, highlight the text stream and click 'Demux'.
    It saves the .srt file to the chosen location.

    And... MKVtoolnix or AVI-Mux GUI.
