so. it doesnt look like there is a solution to the problem. i suppose the best thing i could have done for him now was to make his box work. temporarily. event hough it most likely will break. I'm 100% certain that the tuner only came back to the eigth slot. and couldnt see any red screws inside.
Even if it was a clone, it was destined to become a doorstop!!!

if you are going to kill it simpler to open the screws and look inside and see for certain there is only 3 screws on back and 2 on each side i think then you will know for defo

thanks. ill see if i can get my hands on it again soon. gave it back to him. but im not sure if he'll bother. but surely if it was a genuine box it wouldnt have let me upload the wrong software onto it.

anyway. ill probably post tomorrow about it.
    thanks for the help

    Hey lads, back again

So i checked it my box was legit or a copy by opening it up.
Its authentic, and i also checked whether it was RED/BLUE
    It was red

I used the "UFL_Max_RED_21_04_08.exe" to update the box.

    This seemed to work fine

I managed to reach stage 11 here, it scanned through all teh channels.
However, once the Power Scan finished...it was brought to the menu showing channels/frequencies and there were no channels visible.

The rate at the bottom was 8% but i could not select any channels at all. Another power scan yielded the same results.

I was also unable to quick scan.

Any ideas ? I feel that i have come to a halt here

Go to http://eko.4shared.com and go to the firmware for Eurovox. The firmware "UFL_MaxV_Kuro3_28_04_08_T.zip" is a fix for exactly this problem.

As you can see they have a red box and the fix you have put up is for the eurovox 2008 black box only that is the one that suffers from the 8% problem i would say if the put that on Red or Blue boxes 1 it will either kill them or 2 it will not go on and if it does it wont work

Go to Eamo's and download Scousers latest CDF file and upload it to the EV and you should get ALL stations back working

    Hello All,

I updated my box (Black Eurovox DVB-XC Box V TDA 1.0 STC4 April 18 2008) last weekend and it was working absolutely perfectly until last night.

Now the picture on all channels keeps breaking up. It seems the signal is jumping from 80% right down to 10-15% every 5-10 seconds or so. Nothing has happened to the box/cable/anything else since I updated it, there's no interruption to the service I can see and as I said, it was working perfectly for at least 5 days.

    PLEASE help!

    Thanks.

are you using a splitter on your incoming cable also check your cable to make sure there is no fraying on it ok also make sure you have the scart lead pushed all the way in

Yeah I checked all that. Even checked the cable from wall to box with a avometer. The cable comes in at the wall and enters a small box of which one cable (to the box) comes out labeled TV. THis has never changed since I used the eurovox (about a year now). When I goto the menu -> installation, the signal bar just keeps jumping from 80% (which is what I usually get) all the way to 15% and back again.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks again

But the odd thing is that after doing the update, the box worked perfectly for 5 days - no signal issue at all - and only started doing this wierd signal breakup thing last night. Is the file on the eko site you're talking about the one for the "8%" issue? Cos from what I can tell, that's an issue where the signal is stuck on 8%. Mine is definitely jumping intermittently from 80% to about 10%.

    Cheers

    (ps. wheres the eko?)

Try turning your box off for a minute at the mains, are all the channels the same?
I wouldnt have thought it was the 8% problem as it has worked previous.

Yeah. Unplugged it last night all night. Same problem today. All channels affected equally.
