How to: Update Eurovox Max V with Kuro 18.04.08 (R.I.P 28/11/2008)

Either that above - or have a look around for an old laptop, carboot - computer fair - is there anyone you know that might have one, if you do that then the job's easy peasy , the connection will be there - the one I use for flashing had actually been thrown away, an old acer, really bang on for the job, batteries knackered only 11 gig memory - but if you can do that - just a NULL MODEM cable job, there is a lot of people that have the problem with the USB to serial lead connection, and it tends to put you off, anyway Good Luck with it.

code updating for 45 minutes now just before the match ,IS N@L at it

When you say last week there is a new firmware update on my sig from 21-04-08 If yours isnt updDating try flashing your box with this, It is for the EUROVOX, Make sure you choose the right firmware. all the best.

I am updating the firmware on a black eurovox max. The os is Vista 32 bit. I connected the eurovox via a usb/null modem cable. I installed the drivers-PL-2303 and when I flash the update for the eurovox, I get a message saying no com ports are available. Need to get this done by 6 this eve for someone. What am I doing wrong? Did you set the port number correctly on the PC?

Do the following.

START
Right Click "MY COMPUTER"
Choose "MANAGE"
In the resulting window, click on "DEVICE MANAGER"
In the right hand pane, click on the little plus sign beside "PORTS" in the right hand pane.
Right click on the USB Adapter (Should be something like "Prolific USB-to-Serial Comm. Port (COM#)
Choose "Properties"
Click on "PORT SETTINGS" TAB
Click on "ADVANCED"
Then you will see the COM Port Number Box. You should be able to change it there using the drop down box.
Try to set it to COM2
Restart Windows

Set the transfer Software to COM2 & try to connect.

If that fails try another port number.

IF U OPEN MY COMPUTER BY RIGHT CLICK,GO TO PROPERTIES,RIGHT CLICK,HARDWARE,DEVICE MANAGER,GO TO PORTS CLICK ON THE PLUS SIGN,CHANGE IT TO COM PORT 3 AND OK R APPLY SHOULD WORK THEN,MAKE SURE NEW FIRMWARE PROGRAM IS OFF B4 U DO THIS,THEN VERSION 2.10 SHOULD WORK

 

Use one that is. This usually indicates that you have a different model type, i.e. 2006, 2007 model.

 

Do you know for sure if the box is Genuine (Not a Clone)?

If it is genuine then pull the power & re-connect again real quick & try to flash again.

 

when flashed a max v what causes channel loss and bad signal, only happened to one of them

May take a while dependent on the amount of TPs for your provider, where are you located and with what provider. I presume you have a live feed and are plugged directly into it and then into the RF/Cable In socket on the back of the EV?
