ok just found my dusty old xbox and i'd like to upgrade the hdd in it. It has a matrix mod chip w/ one of the earlier bioses from 2003 (which i can't upgrade). I've got an old EvoX installed as the dash... ftp works great. I just want to upgrade to a larger HDD. IIRC you have to use a tool to format the new drive, then copy the partition contents of the original via ftp. I am really rusty so if someone could point me to a simple guide, that would be great.
Not sure about your chip type, but it shouldn't matter! To change the HDD in a modchipped Xbox, simply insert the new HDD and run a 'Slayers' disc. You can then format the HDD from the on-screen menu! That's it!
