HOW TO: Use a USB Thumbdrive as a Memory Card (For Softmod)

ok i bought a sandisk cruzer micro 2gb U3 drive as it was in the compatibility list on the xbox linux site.

it detects it and says disk is damaged...
then it appears as a memory card. copy operations to it fail. so im guesing its not compatibile afterall, any ideas?

Also have a sandisk micro 1gb (non u3) which when i put it in it says damaged... But it also says erased, (the u3 drive doesnt say erased just says damaged). But once again all copy operations fail which is expected as its in the non compatible list but the u3 drive is in the compatible list and isnt working.

any ideas please? tried like 3 drives i had layin round the house that didnt work so bought the u3 drive which was apparently compatible and its not loL!.

I just found another flash drive. Its a PQI 256mb its blue with like rectangular edges no clue what model it is.

But it works. Perfectly!!

 

it appears to be a PQI "Cool Drive". 256

 

Please help me where i'll get a device manager????????????

What do you mean by "don't have a Device Manager?"
Are you trying to get to Device Manager to update the driver for your memory stick?

You just right click on your "My Computer" icon on your desktop.Then click "Properties".

* Action Replay Software
* The Exploit Gamesaves (SC, 007, Mech)
and the original CD with the game, then I think you do.

Honestly, I don't know which version does not work(I know nothing about XBOX gaming, I bought an old one and modded it just for XBMC and video playback). The version that works for sure(like I said, don't know if is the only one), is "Stealth Action Redefined". I got mine for $3 on ebay, they did not have it at any of the nearby stores.

 

Please tell me the title of the games PLEASE cuz' i don't know what is this version

Stealth Action Redefined-->This is the one you need! The CD cover looks exactly like the picture I posted above, with the dude in black standing and holding his gun.

 

That's not actually the title of the game, it's jusrt "Splinter Cell", Stealth Action Redefined is more or less a comment about the game.

I am using a Sandisk cruzer mini 256MB, so I know that this tutorial should work. But when I do everything that I need to I always get snagged at the point where I need to update my driver with the MaxDrive. It simply is not on the list. What should I do?

I got one of those cables and it did not work. The part that is suppose to plug into the XBOX does not match.
Instead, I bought an USB extension($5 and some change) and attached it to the XBOX controller. I did not completely cut the controller's cable, just stripped it. Then, I attached the USB cable. So, if you're worried about destroying a controller, you don't have to. You make a 2 in 1 "thinggie", so you can use both at the same time, the USB port and the XBOX controller.

 

say, i'm having a usb-xbox adapter shipped over and what i'd like to know is this;
can my xbox recognise usb drives via such adapters????
btw im softmoded, 500gb hdd, xbmc dash, tons off apps, games, etc..
