'Mamedox' is supposedly one of the best. You put it into the emulators folder, than use a keyboard to confiigure the roms directory(There is no onscreen keyboard for this prog) and put the files into that directory in their original zip format, then go.

Just an FYI, these things can be really fussy, a particular game not working does not mean you've set it up wrong, it may just not work!

Hi.. I haven't had much success with mameox.. It really needs the ram upgrade. 64MB isn't anywhere near enough, and on my 128 box it struggles with a lot of games. So much so that I don't bother with it, and run mame on my pc instead.

Looking at the hardware specs from the mame site they recommend a minimum of a p3 900 and 512 ram for proper scaling and a realistic speed without dropping more than 30% of frames, so don't expect excellent results even if you find anything that will run.

The reason for all this being.. A lot of the specialised arcade machines though they had slow cpu's often had heaps of ram fitted to compensate. Usually 128, and a very few even had 512, and twin processors.

Overall the mameox is a rather disappointing port when compared to the likes of xpcsx.

( I was meaning to post my "known to work" games list when I started this reply, but I can't find it.. Typical bank holiday..duh!)

I think a lot of it depends on what you're trying to run, as well; I won't even attempt to run anything past 1995, even that can be kind of pushing it on several occasions. There is a Mameox compatibility list that can be quite helpful. But if you're looking to run anything recent the pc idea janrocks suggested may be a much better option. But if you've got some old childhood faves you want to run, then it the xbox one should be able to serve your purposes just fine.
