HP DVD 640i

    I bought this one, have backed up 2 dvd's using Decrypter and Shrink with no problems. Just wanted to see if anyone had comments on this burner. Thanx

    yes i have the hp630i, guess thats the next one up
    from mine, it's a good one. had no problems with
    it but one...every time i connect to the internet, a
    filmware update pops up. have called HP, they say you
    don't need it, it's coming from HP or the burner's
    software........

    thought about updating it, but my burning/ect. works great
    worried if i did it might mess up my deal....LOL

    Are these the burner with like a lite script or something?, Like it will put a picture on dvd? if so - how good is it?

    well the 630i i have isn't, but i think the 640i is.
    they have it at wal-mart .....
    well i haven't used one of those, but have read about them.
    the burner scribes in a label/ect. of your choice.
    this is cool but, the problem is like everything else
    this is the latest thing out, but the dvd disk's are like
    the double layer frinzzi......they are very exspensive
    have seen the cd's but not the dvd light-scribe yet.

    i use a black sharpie, and write the name on the disk...
    and the actors on the box....
