   Does any one have any ideas why a Hp laptop goes to shutdown but wont shutdown

   how far in the shutdown process does it get? how long has this been happening? does it shutdown if you hold the power button down & count 8 to 10 secs?

   it goes to the screen that says shutting down and just stays there and wont shutdown,its been happening for a few months the only way to turn off is hold the power button down
