Our ad reps have been contacted and I have been told that all "popping" ads should be gone in next 48hrs. Apologies for this mess.
@DvdBack I've had that one once or twice as well. @dRD Thanks for getting it squared away. Hopefully we'll be done with those ads now, or very soon.
ok so i am still getting them and i have a new one to ad to the list. vonage.. it has been non stop for me. making using this site truly un enjoyable.
Yeah, i still got hit a couple times as well. dRD said it could take 48 hours, so we're almost there.
Why (and how!) do so many of you endure the misery that is IE ?, there's Firefox, Opera, and under Linux there's those 2 and a few others to use, none of which will impose those overly intrusive adverts in your eye, and are better built/more features
As I stated before, I use IE7 and I've never seen these "so-called" pop-ups. Maybe I have an ad blocker that is actually configured to work for me......
for those that use IE7.. Give this a try: http://www.ie7pro.com/ It is free and works great. Plus, you have more features than just ad blocking.
Besides the rest of the gang, a new one XM radio just got me. For the record it is 48 hours after drD's last post of the pop ups ending, and they haven't. I think the ad reps kinda stretched the truth to drD.
Time difference issue really. Got mail back from our ad rep about these things, explaining what they are and whether we really want to get them off, but they sent me the email on 4pm EST, which is 11pm here in Finland -- just read their reply and replied back, so I expect them to take action on Monday U.S. business hours and finally get rid of them. But ye, they're going to be removed. Ad rep company sold them as one-off test run for the slow, slow summer months (during end of Spring / Summer, traffic dips and also the revenue paid from ads dips). Adviced them to remove them anyway, rather have happy users than couple of extra bucks.
It must be a "targeted" ad presentation since I've never been affected by these pop-ups while using IE7.
Thanks dRD...happy users vs. a couple extra bucks...nice call! And certainly appreciated by the users, i'm sure. @Creaky, I use Firefox at home, my work pc has IE on it. I prefer Firefox, but so far our PC guy at work won't let me change it. But if he had it his way, we'd all be running Windows 98. Jerk.
Bilbo, that's cuz you don't buy anything (not that I do either, it's just that the ad companies don't know ) But, A BIG THANKS drD !
