    Let´s try this:

    First make a backup from registry:

    Start -> run -> regedit -> ok

    Then File -> Export. Give it a name and save it

    Then save text below as fix.reg in Notepad (save it as all files, *.*) on desktop:

    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
    "Start Page" = "http://www.google.com.au"
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
    "Start Page" = "http://www.google.com.au"

    Doubleclick fix.reg, click yes and ok. Reboot. Did it help?

    It says cannot import fix.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. you can only import binary registry files from within the registry editor.

    Are you sure that you save it as all files in Notepad (*.*, not eg. as text file)?

    Try to replace "REGEDIT4" with "Windows Registry Editor version 5.00" and try again. Also make sure that there´s one empty line between Windows Registry Editor version 5.00 and [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]

    Well, then there's only one option. Open regedit and go to
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main-key
    Create subkey Start Page and give it a value named http://www.google.com.au.
    Repeat same thing with this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main

    Ok, then I guess that you have only two options. Use system restore to revert back to time when you had no home page problem or do repair installation of windows. Also make sure that you have priviledges to that key in regedit (edit -> priviledges).
