That's what worries me. All you know about your graphics card is that it's 512MB, which is almost completely irrelevant. A 512MB 9500GT would be terrible for games, whereas a 512MB GTS250 would be OK-ish. Generally newegg is the best place to order PC parts in the US. My PC has been built and upgraded in stages, I didn't build it all at once so I can't give you an exact figure, but what's currently in it probably cost me around £1600 when new ($2500 but in the UK we pay VAT which is currently 15%, was 17.5%)
A 512 MB card is rather week for a high end gaming system. And your better off going with ATI over Nvidia anyways.
Not true, a 512MB HD4870 is a perfectly adequate gaming card even today. Agreed about ATI over nVidia though, certainly at the moment.
it works great for us eve online and nothing to high end. no crysis the highest we run is empire total war
