i cant get proper download for starview box

for the flash, i've dowloaded the gtrom v4'00 but its not letting me open bin file,also i've downloaded the starview guide pdf is it. can you please help me as my box is changing codes. thanks giggsy.

 

I have just received a Starview PVR 5000. Ver: 1.134 software. I am having a similar problem.

I turn the starview on and I am presented with a language menu, for which I select English. Then I go to Scan and I am presented with Auto or Manual and I select Autoscan. But then I get a screen with several opions on including scan range, QAM range and others but no option for N*L as I read in an earlier post?

What do I do?

 

press n*l before u do an autoscan ! it will scan automatically.
I think u went into manual scan !

 

I don't get the N*L option. All I have is autoscan and manual.

 

when you go into installation it is on the top provider change from tw to N** then do scan

 

No. I only get AutoScan and Manual Scan. Nothing else.....

 

when you go into the installation section on the top over the auto and the manual scan you get the provider on the very top

right with you now you have a pvr box well if i am going to be honest here with you that is a different box to the ones we are using on here but i will try to find a link for you to a thread that will be able to help you ok back in few min

On Installation I get
Autoscan

On User Setup I get:
Language
Aspect
Display Mode
TV Type (PAL or NTSC)
Video Output (RGB or CVBS)
Time Setting
Timer
Modulator Type (Pal-G, Pal-K, Pal-I, NTSC) set to Pal-G
Modulator Channel (set to 38)
OSD Transparence (30%)
OSD Timeout

 

You are not meant to open the bin file this is for the loader only

turn your pc off and attach the cable to the back then turn your pc back on then attach to your box with nothing else attached but the power cord plug this in turn box on and put in standby with remote then click the loader then click the browse on the loader and get the bin file on to it press download and you should see the % bar going up wait till you see 100% then wait another 1 min till you get another message saying download compleat then disconnect your box and turn off then back on and you should be sorted

The pvr is a recordable starview with a built in hardrive , its a good machine...

 

have u got 2 uplug ur modem + everthing from computer?

 

Yes you can try that site if you like there seems to be more info on the pvr on there best of luck with your box sorry could not sort it for you

 

No only printer needs to be taken off unless you use a usb one make sure you put the cable in the right com port should be only one that shape ok
