i cant get proper download for starview box

sorry bout this will the rs232 cable work to flash it?

its a gry cable the screws in the back nine pins on each got it with box. my dad has used it on his comp 4 downloading software,can i use it its not bronze its blue at each end.

 

ok you can have a go with it if it does not work you might have to change the cable ok


Have you put the cable on the pc and restarted the pc

 

i've attached cable done all but i go into gtrom i cant see browse wot am i doing wrong?its all set 4 the flash,when i go in 2 gtrom i press dowload it says no file name.wot am i doing wrong please help. thanks

 

Click on "BIN File" on GTRomloader and load the
update BIN File file that you have.

 

weres the bin file i'm meant to have, i go into bin theres not 1?

 

point the loader to the file you downloaded to the folder last night and put that on then download to the box

 

can u please tell me wot bin file i need for the flash qs i've no idea,how do u flash the box i'm stuck,i'm not as good as u guys.

 

You can view all your channels and there is no problem with it at the moment?

 

Go to the eko site here http://eko.4shared.com/ and download starview pdf and read it and you will get sorted it shows you step by step unless you do this it is going to be impossible for us to get you running try this first ok

 

i've downloded gtrom loader also the starview pdf, i'm having trouble getting the file when i select bin theres nothing there about starview,so wot do i do 2 get the flash,i've down it to the letter still no joy wot xactly do i have to download for the flash?please dont tell me to go into link r i will go crazy can u just tell me wot i need to download from starview menu, ie documentation r firmware?

yes but i had to put different keys in yesterday as it wasnt working. were there a key change as the first ntl keys i got here were different yesterday.

why just tell me the exact names of the files, i have gtrom with a red arrow then i see a diff 1 3 books n it says if its downloaded correct should look like this,can u tell me the xact name of files to download please? ie bin file when i go into gtrom loader n click on bin i dont see any other files of starview.

 

you need the v4 firmware from the eko site you downloaded it last night and put it in the folder with the gtrom loader did you not i have to say this is the last time i am going over this again ok

1. Plug starview in at the mains;and put on stand by

2. Plug in null modem cable and join up box with
PC using COM port on PC (there is only one socket for
this on the starview you cant go wrong);

3. Open up GTRom loader
4. Click on "BIN File" on GTRom and load the
Auto update BIN File file 4.00ee that you have


5. Now click download button and you sill se the
file being downloaded.

6. Once complete a mssage will apppears saying
something like "download successful".(you must wait till youir pc says this it about 20 seconds atfer it says 100%))


7, plug box in and press Menu on
remote, installation, choose your cable provider,
then move don to automatic scan and press ok.

8. Once all channels have been found press exit back to TV screen.

9. Now press menu, parental control, press ok.

10 Now press the info button then the numbers 2 0 0 4. Move down to Key Emu and change option
to on.
Press ok , then exit back to TV Screen.

11. Go to scrambled channel and wait for it to unscramble the channels

12 then watch tv.

 

i cant find auto update when i open gtrom loader i put starview 4.00eE in it cant open serial port?wot is the exact name of the file i need for the flash? wot is it under software or firmware please help me, going crazy.
