i cant get proper download for starview box

first put the gtrom loader on your screen ( u probably have it in your documents, it has a big red arrow on it !
when this is on your screen , click bin file !

 

i've got the red arrow i click on bin file nothing happens when i click on bin file, wots wrong?

 

when u click 'bin file' it should open a new box ( from your documents) showing the v4 file which i pressume u have downloaded already !

 

it say v4 on gtrom loader if not i dont think i have were do i get the v4 file from is it under software or firmware was is the exact name? i seen a file v4.ooeE is that correct if so it says cant open serial port when i click on bin file also file name not specified r sumin. HELP please

 

the gtrom loader is basically the place where u put the firmare onto so it can then transfer the file to ur box via a null modem cable .
The file v4.ooeE is correct, put that onto the loader and make sure the loader is set like this :
serial port : COM 1

Baudrate : 115200

Stb model : 3510

make sure FILE TYPE IS CHECKED
( click the circle where it has app file only)

 

Giggsy this is the first time I have seen someone become a Junior Member with just one query. Not counting the multiposts.

Now you have version 2.59 on your box for the moment. So it will work you do not need to flash it. The only thing that you are missing is the ability to have the keys autoroll, (before you say what is autoroll if the Cable Company changes codes the box will find them automatically). So all you need to do is find the keys for your areas provider and input them manually. To enter keys manually, (after you have got them for your provider in the above link), click the link at the end of my post marked Starview Info Dobby2oon, then click the keys link, this will give you a visual guide on how to input keys manually.

I will say it again you do not need to update to receive all channels.

Main I am sorry for jumping in, I am out of here for the rest of the day but I do think that this thread has outlived it usefulness.

 

mainman sorry about this when i do them things u say it comes uo last error; the system cannot find the system specified,wots wrong with me must b stupid, i put the starview v4.00ee into the gtrom n when i press download cant find the file, sorry 4 this mainman, also why is my skysports 1 channel freezing going wonky n on setanta the picture doesnt full the tv screen? sorry again. wot am i doing wrong/ ps i have a disc with that gtrom thing on it also media n things will that help?

Its no problem giggsy, I think , as ive said on another post , that u should stick to putting in the codes manually. And maybe when u get a bit more experienced, try the flashing.
dont be afraid to ask if/when the codes change

hi guys new to this so any help is greatly appriciated my channels are not workin i have scan the box and it keeps say data beinig updated but the channels still wont show

I`ve just purchased a Starview box, it has 18 vents. Does that mean its a clone? I`m having a little bit of trouble with it and I don`t want to flash it with 4.0 until I`m sure. The majority of channels are coming in except the Hid movies. I would really appreciate someones help. Cheers.

 

If it is a clone DO NOT Flash it with v4 because that will be the end of your box!
click the eko.4 link under my post and find the v257fix for clones !

 

Thank you Mainamn, I`ve downloaded the v257fix. The only other thing is will I do any harm if I flash it with this file if it is not a clone? How do I know if it is a clone? Thank you for your help.
