I did, I followed the steps. Put in my DVD+R and opened Nero Burning Rom. Set it on "DVD", then I chose the iso file (Auto Installer Deluxe) then I pressed burn, and it took like 2 seconds.

    You've stuffed up somewhere!

AID is like 1.1GB in size, even the fastest burner will take two minutes or so!

I just opened it up in Apache and it says "No_Label" and that's it.

Could that mean that there is no files in Auto Installer? Should I reinstall Auto Installer?

The Auto Installer Deluxe 4.10 file I have is 578,894 KB. Is that right?

Sorry for so many questions I want to get this over with so I can finish modding it.

Did you download the 'LITE' version!?

Try burning it again, follow my image guide perfectly!

Are you burning to CD or DVD?

Most Xbox drives won't read CDs (only the Samsung and "some" Phillips), you have to burn to either CD-RW or DVD-R.

    I'm burning to DVD+R.

    Is that right?

Oh and I think I might have found my problem.

They are different sizes, so which AID do I burn?

None of my 2002 xbox drives will read +R media. One will read +RW. That's why people always advise to use -R disks.. and good quality ones at that. Burn slow.. 2x or 4x and for it to boot it MUST have a default.xbe file on the root of the resulting disk

I don't have a clue with aid4.. looks waaaaaay to complicated... Experts like complicated.. I like simple...
I always use http://www.xbox-inf.org/downloads/index.php?act=view&id=173 because it just works.

It's a straight download, unrar and burn.. no messing about trying to find which image or any of that aid crap.. plus point.. look at the installer dash skin.. now you don't get that with aid.

@ chunks.. has the wulff ever imparted the excellent info that a thomson drive will read a cd if you don't finalize it? I can confirm that works. ;-)

So I can fix my whole modding problem if I download that program thingy then burn it to a DVD-R or a CD-RW and then pop it in my XBOX?

And does this file have a default.xbe file or whatever on it?

That disc is WAY too old!

AID isn't hard, it exactly as straight forward as the disc above.

The large one will probably be the right one. I don't know what you guys do on your own desktops, how you download or where you store files, so...

    I ALWAYS use DVD-R!

    @ slugfuk

Are you serious about the CD thing, I'm so off to try that right now!

    EDIT

Nope, couldn't get it to work! I had to turn off 'Disc at once' for it to even let me burn, still doesn't read it...

Well thanks for the help man, but I tried burning AID four times each to a different disc and it didn't work.

Yet when I burned the other file that slugfuk gave me to a DVD+R using Alcohol 120% I popped it in my Xbox and downloaded the applications, dashboards, emulators, and whatnot and my Xbox is now fixed.

Thanks to you both for your support!

EDIT: But why is there no games on the emulators, for example shouldn't there be some NES games under the NES emulator????

    Glad to hear it!

Strange that you couldn't get AID to work... where did you get it from?
