I have a 2nd Generation 8 GB Ipod Touch with the firmware 2.2.1. I would like to jailbreak it and use the 3.1.2 firmware. However, if I try to update it through itunes, it forces me to use a later firmware. How can I update it to the specific firmware 3.1.2? Thanks.

You cant, apple wont let u update to 3.1.2, it happened to me too with my iphone, you have to go to 3.1.3, i think there is no problem with ipod 2nd generation, you must find any tutorial.
