i have a nokia 6030 which i bought in singapore. it worked fine with all southeast asian sim cards. just got back to the u.s. and bought a cingular sim card which wouldn't work. i tried unlocking it using two different codes i found on here. but i got code error message. help! thanks, dave
i am sorry. you said to post in the correct manner, so i thought i had done something wrong. i tried again. and cingular sells the nokia 6030 in the u.s., so i know it will work here. thanks for your help. i appreciate any info you can give me. dave
You bought a Nokia 6030 from singapore so it works on 900/1800MH/z The USA uses 850/1900MH/z = will not work. HOW TO MAKE A REQUEST
what model nokia would you recommend i buy to work in southeast asia as well as the u.s., as well as japan, as they have 3g technology? as inexpensive as possible, if you would please. dave
That will require some research. You will need a quad band phone that also supports 3G technology. I recommend calling a cell store see what models they recommend then come back here so I can check it out. (as sale reps tend not to tell the entire truth)
okay, cause mine is a triband, and when i bought it i was told it would work in the u.s., by nokia. why would they tell me that? dave
All Nokia 6030's are Dual-band. To make a sale, or you got a CS that does not know there own mobiles. NOKIA USA 6030 SPECS
