I messed up big time please help

haha ok well it didnt take long to find a problem unfortunatly

the xbox wont unlock.

is there any common reasons?

 

it still not unlocked

when i continue on and press "6" to generate HD key like it says to if your xbox still isnt unlock

when i do it still says yes to all the security thing etc

 

when you made the xboxhdm file did you put the eeprom in Linux>eeprom folder

 

yep i did, except from a different xbox, but wouldnt... oh..! so it does matter?

 

ya it has to be the xboxes original eeprom

i mean the reason i am undoing the xbox and stuff is because i cant get any thing off my xbox through ftp ??

 

it should of asked you to backup in the softmod installer

yer it did but it was doing weird things, like the screen was going crazy and stuff so after waiting a good 25 mins i restarted the xbox.

so i guess it didnt save...

but is there any other way of doing thing.... with out it...

if not do you know my options?

 

this is the basics

1. Open the Xbox and set it close to the PC. Plug it in.
2. Open the PC and make sure an IDE cable is free and can reach the Xbox HD.
3. Turn on the PC.
4. Before the PC BIOS looks for hard drives, hit the Pause/Break key. It should pause.
5. If you are planning to use xboxhdm, insert the CD to your PC CD-ROM drive. (Make sure you haven't unplugged the IDE cable to your CD-ROM drive!)
6. Turn on the Xbox.
7a. When the MS logo appears under the big X, remove the Xbox IDE cable and quickly plug in the PC IDE cable.
7b. If the MS logo doesn't appear, then swap just before the error screen shows up instead.
8. Hit space bar to continue booting the PC. If it takes a long time to boot (several minutes), then the HD has not been unlocked.

 

if the hotswap doesent work your options are install modchip,get a pro to fix the hdd,or tsop flash it.

modchip-pretty simple price from 15-80

pro realy simple-50-100

tsop hard -free if you have soldering iron already
