I need help, what should i do?

I have an external HD that I think is infected with some virus's. I got a warning message on another computer I had it connected to, and it sait there were files in some "RECYCLER" (something like "RECYCLER", i pressed find target, I think the scanner was AVG free, and it coulnt find it)folder, but i could not find the folder or the files. There seemed to be 8 or so trojan horses in this directory, in a rar file that had some "hacker tools" I dont want to connect it to my computer unless I nkow it wont be able to transfer the virus's onto my machine. Im not sure how to turn off autoplay, but that might help. I also have Norton system works and Internet security
